Question

This Quickapp retrieves energy consumption, energy production and gas usage from the Toon Energy meter version 1 or 2.

This QuickApp has Child Devices for Consumption (Watt), Production (Watt), Consumption High (kWh), Consumption Low (kWh), Production High (kWh), Production Low (kWh), Production Actual (Watt), Gas Usage (l/h) and Total Gas (m³)

Please login or register to see this attachment.

The Energy Usage from the Child devices Consumption High, Consumption Low, Production High and Production Low can be used for the HC3 Energy Panel

Your Toon Energy Meter needs to be rooted, see:

Please login or register to see this link.

This is the recommended all in one solution with a one time boot from USB stick, 10 minutes of work and done.

After rooting you don't need a subscription anymore and you have access to a ToonStore with a growing number of apps. For more technical people there is a possibility to ssh into the Toon if they want with username root and password toon. Rooting is at your own risk, look here for further support and info:

Your app works really well. Thanks for the time you put into it.

A rooted Toon therefore has enormous added value.

The p1 port information that you collect with this app, and can view or use in graphs or subsequent scenes is very valuable.

    Magnificent!

The quickapp performs very well. I export some data into influx and already gives me some sexy stats.

I have a number of other plans that I hope I can accomplish in the future.

  • A new version (1.2) is available. This version also supports Toon version 1 (next to version 2).

(You can copy-paste the code, no need to install a new fqa file)

Do I have to add something to the QuickApp?

    Everything was running fine, but.

Noticed this in the console this morning:

[20.02.2022] [09:35:36] [ERROR] [TOON ENERGY ID:315]: error: "Operation canceled"

And then after taking a look in the QA, and lua code. It resulted in.

    [20.02.2022] [09:37:00] [ERROR] [QUICKAPP315]: QuickApp crashed

    [20.02.2022] [09:37:00] [ERROR] [QUICKAPP315]: Unknown error occurred:

Can we find out what caused it ?

Reboot, and it works again. We will never find out :)

[edit] ahhhh....well, let me reboot Toon also.

[20.02.2022] [10:22:52] [DEBUG] [TOON ENERGY ID:315]: onInit[20.02.2022] [10:25:55] [ERROR] [TOON ENERGY ID:315]: error: "Operation canceled"

Still the same, [20.02.2022] [10:52:05] [ERROR] [TOON ENERGY ID:315]: error: "Operation canceled"

But it seems to function, if i dont open the quickapp - lua.

  • I have a 1.3 version available with better handling of the NaN responses and other bad responses from Toon Energy and with an extra child device for "production actual".

There was a msg at the Toon, something about the webserver. And a GUI restart needed. So i restarted

the Toon on different way now. Just a GUI restart....not sure, but last time with errors in the QA it also needed 2 reboots.

  • I will publish the 1.3 version. You will have to replace the devices, because of a new child device.

  • Just published a new version of Toon Energy. The new version handles bad responses from Toon Energy in a better way and has an extra child device for actual production in watt.

Because of the extra child device, if you are already running the QuickApp, you have to replace it with the new one.

You will have to add some extra ID in your Grafana graphs.

Just to be sure, remove the old one. And start using this one as it would be a new quickapp, and re-assing the ID's in grafana ?

Almost, indeed add a new quickapp (with the .fqa file) and remove the old one.

But not re-assing but add an extra ID in Grafana. In that way you wil get the values from the "old" devices and the values from the "new" devices. Like this:
