Question

Hi,

recently bought an HC3 (still moving from HC2 with slave HCLite ?.

But at the energy panel  I found "Production". Maybe for solar power or fuel cell.

So I ask me if there is a device that gives you total consumption right from the house power meter?

No one has a wallplug with the cookingplate ?

Best regards

Gerhard

  • Hi Eddy,

Google gives me a lot of matches thanks for that, some looks like the device my powerprovider installed last year.

But how do this data find the way to my HC3? Nothing I found supports z-wave. Do you know any concrete devices that do so?

    Hi @ggoetz56

It depends a bit from your smartmeter, what kind you have. I use my P1 Monitor QuickApp, with a Raspberry Pi and plug-and-play software from ztatz.nl.

I get realtime information from the smartmeter.

  • This sounds very much like nothing I can handle ? although I own a RasPi.

    Nothing plug-and-play with HC3?

This starts with 0 (zero) not even 2  years ago ?

That is a standard reaction to a Raspberry Pi. But if you can’t copy software to a SD card and insert it to a RPi, then why try to use Home automation? This is as plug-and-play as you can get. I see a lot of problems with z-wave products like with aeotec home energy meter, those users earn a medal if they get it to good use. My 2 cents.

If you want to extract information from your smartmeter, it needs to have a P1 interface.

  • @SmartHomeEddy Great service, Thanx a lot.

P1 is'nt mentioned at all but "Für den Empfang der Daten ist ein optischer Kopf nach DIN EN (IEC) 62056-21 erforderlich." but optical Data recognition.

(Die Übertragungsrate beträgt 9600 Baud. Die Kodierung der Zeichen erfolgt im Format 8-N-1. Der Abstand zwischen 2 Bytes eines Telegramms ist kleiner 2ms.)

9600 Baud sounds like acoustic coupler. OK! That's why I have to pay about 100 Bugs- it's something historical. ?

Hahaa, that acoustic coupler looks authentic :-)

But actually the P1 interface acts with that kind of speed. There isn't that much to transport btw.

My P1 port has 115200 baudrate, 8 bits byte size, non parity and 1 stop bit.

And this table from the manual has similarity with my P1 interface readings, like OBIS (C-D-E) for example "Zählerstand", "Spannung" and "Strom"
