Making Fibaro Home Centre 3 Talk

Hi Everyone,

I thought you may like this video that I made on how to use Fibaro Home Centre 3 to send notifications to Alexa automatically when an event has occurred.

There may be a better way of writing a FQA for this but beyond my skill set.

Enjoy!

Great video, and a nice solution.

I do it in another way, much more complex with a few more options like start a radio station or insert a variable in the syntax.

But if you need some pre-formatted phrases to pronounce this is the way.

I see that since the last check for me, on how to do this. The method changed.

While i have a working "old" method, for now i am not gonna change it to the NodeJS solution.

It looks even more complex now, i suggest to do it the @Phenix way.

[edit] I see, the main fix in the new release is a refresh token for the amzon cookie.

Uhmm...nice

  • Sounds like a product issue not being compatible. Not a Fibaro issue sorry.

I don’t have a TV cube so cannot test but will investigate

    Hello

I tested and it works not too badly, but at the time of the announcement I have a message just before what I want to announce
When I launch the Quickap I wait for the following announcement: someone is on the hc32 camera the garage door is open

Why does he tell me the message (there is someone on the hc32 camera) before my message (the garage door is open)??

Pourquoi il m'annonce le message ( il y a quelqu'un sur la caméra hc32) avant mon message ( la porte du garage est ouvert) ??

    Why sad face?

I will never understand why most of the people has no problem of paying money for coffee, but are not happy to pay same amount for the software solution that is making their life easier and more pleasant. :-(

  • I completely agree, I paid the $6 already as it’s a good app, and I suspected it would be monetised when making the tutorial. There is a trial that you can still have for free if you think the app is for you or not.

I do believe that everyone has an android tablet connected to the home center to view and monitor the smart home, isn't?

So the simple way to make HC speak is to use @davanha zenitgatekeeper TTS.

Works for last 5 years for me without any problems and can announce any phrase you send (has wakeup for tablet as well) instead of dealing with websites and payment.

Another advantage, it works even if your internet is down (runs on your LAN, no need for external sites)

    But... it's just a thought
