Double Switch 2 and Dimmer 2 cross association

danidani

Question

I have HC3 (on 5.091 beta) one Double Switch 2 (FGS-223) connected to the physical switch and one Dimmer 2 (FGD-212) connected to the bulb.

My target is to be able to turn on/off the light with Switch or to dime the bulb by mobile app, web interface or Google Home assistant.

I have created an association (Endpoint 2 | Group 2) on the Switch to the Dimmer so I am able to turn on/off the bulb (that is physically not connected to the Switch).

My problem: If I turn on or dime the bulb via mobile app, web interface or google, the Double Switch 2 status does not change so if I want to turn off the bulb with the physical switch later on I have to click it twice (first to change status of Double Switch 2 to on and second to turn it off).

How the associations and parametres should be setup to solve this?

Associations work outside of the HC3. So operating the device through the webinterface or Yubii app does not activate the association.

So it makes the most sense to hide the Double Switch 2 device in the Home Center. Your end-goal is to turn on the light connected to the dimmer, so most likely you have named this something like 'Living room light 1' and placed it in the room 'Living room'. The Double Switch is only a remote right?

It works exactly as you defined. The double switch associated with the dimmer, but the dimmer doesn't. So when you change anything on dimmer the double switch will not react. Association is a one way "ticket"

May be it will work  if you'll set association between dimmer and double switch as well... never tried such a concept.

One additional info, associations are triggered by physical interaction with devices - remote control won't trigger sending associations.

    That is the key point.
