Compatible with 2-Way or Intermediate Switches in Europe?

Hi,

We are in the process of building a small house right now, and will have two places in the house (stairs & living room) where a light will be controlled by multiple switches, but we would like to have connected switches (preferably Homekit).

I am looking at a couple different options to accomplish this, but I was wondering if the Fibaro in-wall switch modules are compatible with 2-way or intermediate switches in Europe? From my basic understanding of how 2-way and intermediate switches work, it seems like it would not, but I still wanted to ask someone more knowledgeable than me.

We will have the option of neutral wires in the switches if it matters.

And thanks for any help!

Yes, 2 way and intermediate switches will work with Fibaro devices.  Logically, these switches together act just like a toggle switch.  However, if you want to take full advantage of the fibaro features, momentary switches are best (they can be double clicked or held to activate other fuctions like dimming).  My suggestion would be Fibaro Dimmer 2 devices and momentary switches (you can have multiple momentary switches operating the one device, therefore acting like 2-way and intermediates).

  • Wow, thanks for the reply! Surprised and happy to hear it works. I suppose the module just detects then when there has been a change in the switch that it if connected to and just mirrors that action in the module?

    Would it matter then between

or are they both compatible with 2-way / intermediate switches?

And do you know if there is a wiring diagram anywhere that shows how one of these modules would be wired to a 2-way switch?

No worries. Have a look at these two links - I think what you want will be a combination of the two:
