I used an implant with ds18b20. Can't remember any issues. Actually using UBS (old biary sensor) for that, so I can't confirm that.

Is the implant it's self getting warm, its a massive difference between real room temp.

You are right. Just tested it. After inclusion of implant it jumped to 29°. I placed a flood sensor with the implant in the bedroom (about 16°). Flood comes (slowly down within 30 min.) from 26° (was placed on a floorheating original) to 19° and implant goes to 26.

So you even can't work with offset.

Sorry the use is less I guess ?

It seems the temp. sensor is chip-integrated so it is like cpu temp. sensor and not reliable as for ambient measuring at all.
Remember the smart implant is for "embedding" into appliances where you need to control overheating or freezing.
So you can detect i.e. your "appliance" is just about to freeze....

The Smart Implant gets so hot, it kinda prevents the appliance from freezing ?

prevent from calling the fire brigade if it is so hot

btw here in Poland we have the insurance service you can integrate with, they call a fireman for you

    indeed, when the appliance freezes, your Smart Implant is probable still 5 degrees above freezing point

    @akatar  and other :)

    I have a question. What is the voltage of the Smart Implant?
    If you use the specified 9V (12V), the SI will not heat up as much and you can use the offset to adjust the measured temperature. I myself use 4 pcs of SI under switches.
