QA InfluxDB2

petrkl12

Question

QA for regular exporting data from HC3 to InfluxDB 2.x

30 days trial period - than you need license key: 30EUR via Paypal account

Please login or register to see this code.

For license key I need your HC3 (or HC3L or Yubii) serial number: HC3-xxxxxxxx

Ideally include your device serial number and QA name in the payment note.

QA is sending data based on events and also in regular intervals from HC3/HCL/Yubii to InluxDB 2.x. It generates data to Influx with minimum delay.

There is data about HC3 system (cpu, ram), info about scenes (start, stop), geofence events and a lot of details about devices. In QA variables there is possibility to define include/exclude measurements/IDs/… (default all data are sent to Influx)

QA variables - you have to setup -

IP_InfluxDB2 ie. 192.168.1.111 (or server/database address without https:// or http:// )

Port_InfluxDB2 ie. 8086   (for cloud database usually 443)

HttpType ie. http     (defaul value http, for cloud usually https)

Organization ie. YourOrganizationFromInfluxDB2
Bucket ie. YourBucketFromInfluxDB2
TokenAPI ie. YourTokenAPIFromInfluxDB2

Perfect, in the meanwhile i am running influxDB v2 in a docker on my nas.

Tomorrow I will link Grafana to it and then come back to it to fill the database and visualize the data

It looks promising!

I'll be back. Thanks for this.

Ofcourse, i tried to import the old dashboard thats based on influx 1...

But it needs some work on my side, since the entry's are different.

Well, i could need a little hint. I am trying to make a query from within influxdb. To use it in grafana -> flux.

This is a little new for me, but i thought i'd just make one in influxdb, and use that line for flux.

But all the entry's are there, but it doesnt bring up the data.

I worked it out, it needs a different query order then the standard settings in influxdb.

Doing it like this, and then select per device ID brings up the correct numbers.

Okay, my first impression up till now. Compared to my old situation.

The old situation is still running, on an RPI with influx 1. The data is transferred to Grafana.

The new situation with this QA. 2 Dockers on my synology NAS. InfluxDB 2 - Grafana with FLux Beta as Query Language.

The load on the HC3 at initial startup seems very low. The latency for the new data being showed in grafana seems a lot faster.

Not sure how to measure this. But it's about 1.5 minutes faster.

Using InfluxDB2 compared to v1 is very nice. All results and data can be reviewed in the dashboard itself. So selecting the events from the HC3 is really easy. I like it.

So, for now - lets see how stable it is for the coming weeks. And i hope to see more users showing their results. And give me some ideas.

This is how I ended up with the data.

    great work @petrkl12

  • There should be almost everything from HC3 incl. press buttons on remotes, start/end scenes  etc. :)

So far it runs without any problems. Very responsive with the incoming data, and low impact on the system.

I have not noticed any hickups till now. The update system also seems to work well from the QA itself.

I am still discovering events and triggers in the influx database. I plan to do more with that.

Again, I hope to get inspiration from other user experiences.

I also really like the setup with influx and grafana on my synology.

Although it probably also runs perfectly on an rpi.

    nice!!

Hi - I'm very much the noob with this so was hoping for some assistance. Would you perhaps have a guide as to how this is setup?

I have a Pi running influxdb and a database called PiData but I'm unsure about what the organisation, bucket and token API is.

Is this some kind of cloud connection to influx or something?

Any examples / documentation would be great

    Thanks,

    Anthony

    @Anth

This guide helped me a lot, ofcourse it contains some parts that are not usefull for you.

But is gives the basic setup for influx and grafana also.

Just installed it, but on the Edit&Preview tab I see No valid QA license key!

And there is no update, no data in InfluxDB.
