Hooking up smart implant with magnetcontact

Lode

Question

Does somebody know how to hook up a smart implant with a 4-wired magnet contact.

I used to have a universal binary sensor but that's broken.

I tought it worked the same but that's not.

I don't need the outputs.

i just need the open/close funcionality.

Magnet contact is normally closed.

I changed that parameter.

Update :

Found it. Wiring was ok, configuration was not ok

Hi Lode,

we are trying to achieve the same setup that you seem to have gotten to run: hooking up a smart implant to read a wired magnetic contact. The wiring should also be ok in our case, however we are having issues in configuring the parameter (20 or 21 according to the manual). How did you select the parameter in the home control center configuration? We can not select the fitting parameter value from the list? We are using Home Control Center light as controller btw..

Thanks a lot in advance!

Best,

Sebastian

Quoting from the manual...a reed switch is normally open

  • Connected to IN1:
    • Normally close: change parameter 20 to 0
    • Normally open: change parameter 20 to 1
  • Connected to IN2:
    • Normally close: change parameter 21 to 0
    • Normally open: change parameter 21 to 1

Try re-including the smart implant after you have added the reed switch.

Hi Tim,

many thanks for your reply!

Actually that is exactly the problem I am having... in the configuration view of the HCL3 webUI there is a parameter list, however it starts at parameter 24 (see my screenshot attached). What am I doing wrong here? How to set up the smart implant parameters 20 and 21?

Thank you very much in advance ..

Best,

Sebastian

Hi Sebastian - I haven't got an HCL3, so not really sure.  The UI layout if different to the HC2. Can you check the "advanced" and "device configuration" tabs, do they contain some parameters even if not numbered?  I've found that sometimes Fibaro drop the numbering in the UI.

@bazza0300HI, the Smart Implant settings Parameter 20 + 21 in hc3l are hitten under: advanced > input configuration > type the letter b > then the binary settings will come up.  SC below.
