HUE - Via HUE Bridge vs direct HC3 Zigbee

Sjekke

Question

Dear forum members, @m.roszak

Today I have 3 identical HUE lamps active on my HC3, 2 via the HUE bridge and 1 directly on the HC3 via Zigbee.

2 things stand out immediately.

  • Via Zigbee the HUE lamp is RGB, via the HUE Bridge this is RGBW.
    • Is this a bug?
    • If not how can I adjust it?

Please login or register to see this attachment.

  • Why can the "brightness" of the Zigbee HUE never be set as high as the lamps via the HUE Bridge?

The idea is to get rid of the HUE Bridge and go 100% on HC3/Zigbee

yes, this is how it is currently implemented, it does use only ZIGBEE set rgb.

You can for sure set fav. colors (API or any other z-wave rgb/rgbw device), to try to cover more or less what you wish, but only with RGB value.

You can use zigbee API to

, this can be rgb, xy. Haven't found yet was to change for my HUEs the color mode, seems to stay always on color_mode=xy.

With get you can red what values has been set, e.g. over HUE App (i have only hue lamps with BT, so can set them over app, read the values, and set from QA then)

Attached the example, you can use it as idea for QuickApp with some XY sliders.

Please note the ZIGBEE set does not take always all params, no idea why, i guess it rejects errors (or hue need to be set in few steps)

Please note that the API call need your admin info specified i the QA variable.
