How to use REST API

Hello!

 

I started to play around with the REST API. I can read all data from my HC2 like Devices and settings. All fine so far. 

But hov do I get all the events? I want to know when a button is pressed or a motion sensor is triggered! 

How to do this?

Still no answer on this topic, but I can comment what I found out myself so far.

I'm using the history table!  The call is:  http://<username>:<password>@192.168.70.31/api/events/history

The response is something like this:

Every click on a button (if parameter 28 and 29 are set) and every movement detection (if parameter 28 is set) are logged in this history table.

To limit the number of responses you get you can add  ?from=1669918835  to the call. This limits the results to records with timestamp >= 1669918835. 

If you save the highest timestamp from a call you can use this as a filter in the next call.

 

I do this call every 250 ms the get up to date data.

 

Of course this polling method is not the best solution, so I'm still searching for a solution where I get a callback when an event occure. WebHooks?!

Anyone having any ideas?
