What are the settings for a z wave Philio Smart Energy Meter for a HC3 Lite because it is not counting the KWh?

Digby

Question

I'm struggling with the set up of a power meter and a HC3 Lite. They are the only two components and I just cannot understand what I'm missing. I thought I'd post the issue here before asking support.

I've installed a Philio Z-Wave smart energy meter (

and added it into my folks HC3 Lite z wave network. It appears to be reading and publishing the Volts, Amps, Watts, KWh and Power Factor, however:

  • it won't register in the energy panel.
  • The Watt current consumption is registering but only in parts of the app,
  • A historical graph of watt usage will only show in the device's ADVANCE tab in the HC3 Lite interface, but not on the energy panel itself.
  • kWh consumption is not counting.

Screenshots attached. I'm not sure if that's enough information for someone better than me to help?

Thanks, D

As I can see, you are on pretty old version of gateway firmware or device was added on old version.
Handling of Z-Wave Command Class Meter was improved some time ago but your device representation looks like an "old" handling of meter devices.

Hit Soft-reconfiguration or exclude and include the device again.
Tiles will be created a different way, there will be separate devices for energy metering and power metering - not it is combined in one tile.

  • :-) Thank you. That did it.

I know how this occurred. I installed the HC3 Lite, followed the set up wizard, which adds the device. Then, at the end, I found there was a firmware upgrade. The firmware upgrade should have occurred first, before the Wizard.

    Thank you again.

  • Ok.. The solution has created a problem. The energy meter (in room Logger) only shows up on the energy panel in REST, but not in the room/s itself? Any thoughts why that maybe?
