Z-wave network diagnostic

Question

Posted

Dear Fibaro, when can we expect a tool similar to that one:

Please login or register to see this link.

You have all the information in HC2 and I will be willing to pay some extra $/PLN/Euro to get a tool like that. Any plans?

This would really improve the stability of Fibaro installations and customer satisfaction !-)

Even "bad" Danfoss is able to deliver at least info about signal strength

SUBTLE HINT TO FIBARO (no exclemation as per request by oficials)

Annyways the system needs this way more than most other things, you managed to give us stability, good! now lets see why things are failing please. PTP or Tech Support exclussive tools just SOMETHING that we can diagnose problems with.

just look at that :

No info is allso slightly dissapointing but i do understand that negotiating is complicated process that could be hindered by oversharing details midway throu so i accept that is not going to happen.

What about restricted access with SSH. No root, i do not want to do everything, but some local logs, if there are any, top command or  Z-Wave routing table would be very useful. I know there is some Debian as an OS and nginx (HCL) or Apache (HC2) as a web server and it is possible to make such an account. What about link that admin acc with internal os (admin account only).

What about plugin, that send logs to some remote server or NAS?

For HCL, what about some external memory (some SSD), that is connected to HCL with special connector, that HCL has on sides and store logs there and data for energy plugin? I know this is additional HW, but that will be nice in future.

Hello,

As every solution (either software or hardware), pros and cons have to be discussed. I can assure you that the idea is on the table.

Is there anything we forumers can do to help?

I cannot stress enough the importance of having more troubleshooting tools which we consumers can use to analyse and understand what may be causing faults or abnormalities. The more we can help ourselves, the more it lessen the burden of Fibaro Support team and Developers.

Hello guys,

Proper teams discuss the idea at the moment. If (and after) they come up to any agreement, I am more than sure that they will need your further suggestions.

@Kuba13, the table is in a secret bunker somewhere in Greater Poland
