HCL - poor signal

Acho

Question

Hi all,

Im new to Fibaro HCL, since the beginning Im facing the issues with the sigal coverage - indoor its up to 7m-10m from the HCL only ( no concrete in between, no walls, except of wooden furtniture nothing hides the Fibaro plugs...)

Ive tried several times, to exclude/include the devices, restart the HCL, checked the antena connector, moved the HCL into several locations and still no improvement - any idea what can be wrong ? Any chance to "set" in HCL the signal power ?

Thanks

Acho, HCL signal power can not be adjusted in any way. Every installation is different and it is hard to detect issue without access to building itself. I assume there is no way of adding more devices in between to repeat signal?

  • Well there is a chance to buy additional active devices, still if its declared, that indoor coverage is 30m-50m, and it cant reach even a device in a distance of 10m with no walls in between I think something is wrong... In the meantime Ive contacted the local distributor ( which is really verry supportive and tries to resolve the issue ) and got another HCL to try - hoping the issue is only the particular HCL Im having at the moment - seems like as no-one reports the same issue ( at such a close distance of the HCL to the Fibaro plug with no walls in between )

BTW I tried 4 plugs ( 3x fibaro, 1 evers.. ), each of them not in the range if the are more then 7m far from the HCL...

Well Ive tried another HCL being 15m away from the Fibaro socket - first hint went OK - socket reacted as expected, but afterwards felt into dean node with no response on wake-up...

So I guess one of te other sockects are somehow disturbing the Zwave signal ( Ive forgotten then to unplug... ) - will try to test tomorrow again

BTW any other idea ( surely no wireless devices being at home on the same fq.... )

    Thanks
