Resetting modules? - Yes I've RTFM

Question

Posted

I sold my HC2 and I went for an Aeon Labs USB Z-Wave stick.

I managed to include the Fibaro wall plugs but no way in hell I'm able to include my FGS211.

How the hell do I reset my FGS211's so I can include them in the new network? Yes I've RTFM and it just doesn't work.

My steps:

1) Switch off mains

2) Switch on mains

3) Push button B for 3 seconds.

4) activate inclusion mode on the Aeon Labs stick

5) Push B Button 3 times

Nothing happens?!?!?!?

Any ideas would be appreciated.

I can't exclude them from the network because my HC2 is already gone.

Well, he did but you didn't read his post. It's a wall switch not a wall plug.

You did it the right way. Try again and if it doesn't work try to find another controller (friends, shop or something) to perform the reset. They are sometimes a bit tricky and need several tries.

Hi

You dont need the HC2 to exclude your switch. With your Aeon Labs USB Z-Wave stick you can exclude it first then re-include it into the new system.

Correct me if I'm wrong

Yes, any controller can exclude any device.

But... if the switch has another problem, then maybe reset is the only option... I had to do this with a 2*1.5 relay and it worked, but I had to try about 5 times. I don't remember clearly, maybe I am telling stupid things, but isn't it necessary to push B within the first 5 or 10 or 20 seconds after power-on?

As for "inclusion", the manual says "Add Fibaro Switch to the network by pushing three times key no. 1 or push-button B located inside the housing of the device." - I am pretty certain that you only have to click *once* on B. On S3 it's 3 clicks (within 1 second)...

If it doesn't work, let me know. I have a spare 3kW relay and I can test it tomorrow (Tuesday).

Sorry, been away for a while....

Well I managed to include them in my Aeon network. I'm not completely sure what I did but it did involve putting the Aeon USB stick into exclude mode and then press the B button a hell of a lot of times. After that I was able to include the switches back in. By putting the Aeon stick into include mode and press the B button again a hell of a lot of times. It took me about 5-6 tries per switch but it worked.

btw loving the Aeon stick in combination with Domoticz....It's doing everything the HC2 for a fraction of the price.
