Connect HC2 & HCL over internet

martinpreiss

Question

Hi all,

my flat and weekend house is 150 km apart, still I would like to connect them together...

I was wondering if I can connect Gateway HCL to my HC2 thru internet.

I put virtual servers with pointing publicIP port 1080 -> localIP port 80 on HCL.

On which port HCL and HC2 communicate to each other?

Any clue how to do this? VPN?

Hello,

What do you mean by "connect them"? Do you want to make a HCL a slave gateway to HC2?

    Hello,

I advise doing this within a local network when you have direct access to the gateways.

  • Can't do. Distance between the two gateways between the two local networks is 150km.

    It is possible, (IMHO)

You would need to establish a VPN connection between the two LANs, so that both segments appear to be 'local'

Have a talk to a local IT networking guru.  They will able to advise what additional equipment you will need.
