Can someone explain to me what the difference is between the Single + Double Switch 2 and the Relay Switches?

Thanks for your reply, but: I mean Single + Double Switch 2 on one hand and the Relay Switches on the other hand.

I would like to know this too.

I can't decide if I need a 'Double Relay Switch' module or a "Double Switch 2' module.

They both seem to do exactly the same thing...

The newest modules are FGS-213 and FGS-223 ("Single/Double Switch 2").

If you still have questions after reading the manual, feel free to ask! I'll try to answer them! Even about older models, but it would be helpful if you could post the model number.

Be careful as the new Double Relays can only take 240V AC and can only switch what is at the Live terminal.

The voltage specs are actually: 100-240V~ 50/60 Hz

Sorry I should have said mains voltage not 240V, my point was they cannot be powered by low voltage DC or AC and only switch the Live input to the outputs rather than the IN Voltage.

The significance of this being largely in  reticulation/irrigation

    Much clearer :-) - thanks.

The clearence between the terminals of the relay units were always a tad close for mains and low voltage anyway. Slave relays much safer.

Agreed! The safe way to switch extra low voltage was to use the older fgs-221 and 211 and *power it from that extra low voltage* - not mains! The newer relays have lost this power option. So, like you said, one must use an additional relay in order to meet safety requirements.

    Typo in part number

This is a 7 to 8 years old topic. But I cannot see the answer to the original question :

What is the difference between Single Switch and Single Relay Switch?

I happened to ask the same question today .

I gave you an answer in your other post

This is easy, difference between double or a single , is only in the outputs, you can switch one heavy load or 2 smaller ones.

The smart module doesent have a potential on the output. That means, what you connect to the IN , is the thing that will be switched to out 1 and out 2. It can be a neutral, 24V, 110V, 230V or anything else.

The double switch or single switch, can only connect the L of the module to the output, nothing else.

    Is this helpfull enough ?
