The circuit that our fridge in on sometimes blows a fuse when we're away. I thought about putting a smart switch on it, and set that up so that it will tell me when it changes state or goes to zero watts etc, but of course if the power is off then the switch won't be able to communicate to tell me there's a problem. When the power goes off, however, my HCL will recognise that there is a communication problem with the switch (my HCL and modem and router are on a different circuit and also on a UPS). Is there a way of getting a message from the HCL when there is a communication problem to a particular device, as this will indicate there is a problem?
