HCL with OpenHAB

JeMpty

Question

Hi everyone,
Is there any way to connect HCL with OpenHAB?

I already researched and found some bindings, but they are for connections with the USB Z-Stick and I can not find anything for the HCL.
Please, can someone help me on this. Thanks

Greetings

Hello guys!

There are many third party solutions, hardware solutions, software solutions which connect or join with our system with more or less proper ties.

Our APIs and HTTP requests are probably already known for all interested, we cannot ensure compatibility and integrity with all solutions available on the market.

Furthermore, just as @10der said, both Z-Wave stick and our Home Center Lite are Z-Wave controllers. Maybe it's not enough to emulate Z-Wave controller, then you need some software to negotiate primary<->slave relations in the Z-Wave network.

What is more, I see that this OpenHAB tries to act as a Home Center and FIBARO Cloud by becoming a centralized place for all services. That's what we do with the clouds, Google Home, Alexa, Wall Plug Wi-Fi, FIBARO ID integrations. Coexistance may be possible but it's not our goal right now.

Hi!

Hmm. OpenHAB is UI for any z-wave network as far I know. openHAB is a software for integrating different home automation systems and technologies into one single solution that allows over-arching automation rules and that offers uniform user interfaces.

it can work with any Z-wave controllers via HTTP API (for example)

Also OpenHAB as far as know support and be as a controller with Z-Stick (supported devices you can find

Please login or register to see this link.

)

so, if you asking about the bridge (plugin) between HC and OpenHAB, you should ask in OpenHAB forum. at least in summer 2017 when I installed OpenHAB on my rPi - no "ready to use" plugins for HC.

manual binding (i have 100 devices) murder task :)

  • Thanks for both answers, these were my terrible suspicions... :)

Oh well, by now I think I'll have to try the Z-Stick solution that @10der suggested.

    you have

    • Gateway/s: Home Center Lite

why you trying to find another solution for Z-Wave.

Yes,  I very not happy with Fibaro software, but my requirements too high (big house - big requirements), but Fibaro is good solution ever. take my word for it

@I.Srodka please, help this man understand what he can get some potential troubles with  Z-stick and HCL. Thank you!
