Hi, this is from the Norwegian Meteorological Institute, owners of api.met.no and the yr.no weather site. I can confirm that the Yr Weather scene has been blocked due to TOS violations. First of all it has nothing to do with Yr, and uses the name and logo without permission. stipulates max 20 r/s without special agreement). Not only was the traffic much too high, but the programming seemed buggy in the extreme; about 12% of the requests were for a crossroads in Niemierzyce (near Poznan where Fibaro's HQ is located), and one single Polish IP address asked for this very same forecast every 15 seconds (which is totally unnecessary since it is only updated twice daily).

Locating Fibaro as the culprit took us months of detective work, all the time while 70% of the traffic was being throttled. On 2. November 2018 I sent an email to the Fibaro Group explaining the situation and asking their tech staff to contact us, but received no reply. As a result we decided to ban Fibaro devices since that usually results in a quick response, but still we did not hear anything. That's why I decided to post an explanation on this forum, in hope that some of the developers might read it and get in touch.

For buyers of Fibaro Home Center we're sorry for the inconvenience, but as a public service we must take necessary steps to insure that rouge apps don't disrupt the service and potentially cause interuptions in emergency weather alerts, aviation services and our own Yr site. Hopefully these issues can be fixed so that the scene can be unblocked and behave acceptably in the future.

How can a serious company not react when contacted by another company who delivers something that important.....?

And how can a serious company settle for making small adjustment to its system that hide problems rather than solving them...?

Now that's a bummer and leaves me speachless.

For gods sake get a proper contract and agreement with companies you are using stuff from.

 

And change the code of the YR Plugin .. polling so often when the data get's updated twice a day

 

And while you are in the code stop pinging google 200 times a minute before they ban the whole company from it's products.

Eventually a contract might help there too

4.531 is still in beta, who can confirm it is solved? I see it is mentioned in the release notes of the 4.531 beta.

I have a question related to the result from the Fibaro weather API: Does anyone know what ConditionCode stands for ( perhaps the number value corresponding to WeatherCondition?) 

Which values can  it take?

Some of the most active ip addresses (with over 15000 req/day) had been blacklisted. Since the misbehaving Fibaro versjon now has been blocked we have removed the blacklist. If you upgrade to the latest versjon you should get data now.

The plug-in is not working for me.  I'm in New Zealand.  Just always shows the same data.

 

My HC2 is on 4.540 firmware.

It did work for some time, but now its not updating for me either... On version 4.550 one HC2 is updating(At least it has more realistic temp, not 100% sure if its updating correctly tho) but other HC with the same 4.550 version is not updating, it stays on 4 degrees. And as they both have same WAN ip just different ports I dont think its blacklisted.

Not working for me but i only use my HCL as a fibaro z-wave controller to add devices and firmware updates. All automation is done using different software
