Harmony report back

Shady Hamilton

Question

The problem with Harmony is that it doesn't report back, and Fibaro looks like they don't want to fix it, but i just dicovered that when you go to the device and save it will read the status (report back), is there anyway to create a scene or something that will save the Harmony device so it will read the status of the hub?

@Shady Hamilton DON'T do this.

I did this a long time ago using the api to save the plugin. This ended up in locking my system like fort Knox and had to restore!.

The way i get my report now is like this:

I made a VD to toggle the different Harmony "scene's" and use IFTTT for an all off command.

Now to get the correct state of the Harmony: I bought some cheap wall plugs and wrote a scene based on power consumption to set a global what the state of the Harmony is.

Like power TV > 3w and power Onkyo > 8w then state = watching TV.

power onkyo > 8w then state = Listening to Radio

Etc, etc.

P.s I also use the plug for my standby killer when we are asleep or out of the house.

    Thanks for the tip Jim,  i think there should be an easier way, since updating the status is available for Fibaro, why don't they integrate it in the plugin? i am not sure if we can contact the person who created the plugin if not Fibaro
