Home/away precense based on WiFi for iPhone

Hi,

 

I want to add a precense state for all family members. I don’t want to use GPS because it (eat) drains the battery. I have read a lot on this forum about changing a variable if the phone of person A is connected to the home wifi. On this forum there are already a lot of ideas to get it working, but a lot of these topics are old.

 

Who can tell and help me to achive this?

What do I want;

Fibaro to show who is home and who not. But all based on the precense of the iPhone connected to the home wifi.

Hi @kevin

Have you considered using Find Friends or Find My Friends app built into the iPhone? 

When setting it up you have the option to specify the size of the geo fence around your home. This way you control how close to home you need to be before a notification is triggered. I created a system that can interpret this notification and set your controller accordingly.

Thanks for your response. I have it working now with IFTTT, that is working perfect for me and is free to use.

yeah, i tried the right one and it works!
 

i must say i expected a lot more IFTTT fibaro examples but there are not so many yet.

You can create your own. You can use any trigger in this universe to start a Fibaro scene.

I know, i just expected a lot more already.
