Been here for a while so I might as well introduce myself.

 

Got the HA bug from my first echo dot due to Siri is really pants. Installed miHome from Energenie for the light switches and plugs. For the living room and landing installed the connect series from LightwaveRf for 2 way switching. For the bathrooms that have a pull cord, Ikea's Tradfri.

 

After a few months I've found that the Energenie stuff is hit and miss and started looking at z-wave. Out of Aeotec and Fibaro, it seemed that Fibaro is a better product and managed to get a HCL for£100 off Ebay. Love the fact that it's local access and now I a dimmer, plug and multisensor. I will expand as time goes on.

 

Also been playing around with Xiaomi range of sensors, because they are cheap as chips.

 

After been here a while and reading the posts about the issues with the controllers (Plugins suck) and support I'm thinking of a different direction:

 

HCL: for my modules only. So if need be I can update the firmware and set them up.

Conbee II: All my zigbee stuff, Ikea Tradfri and Xiaomi Aqara.

 

For all my automation needs use Home Assistant to integrate them all together.

 

Other kit I have:

Denon amp which has HEOS.

HEOS speaker.

Samsung 4k TV.

Gaming/HTPC PC (we don't watch telly)

Hamony remote/telly.

MyMedia for Alexa.
