NETATMO API evolution

Hi Fibaro team. There will be a Netatmo API evolution for access... Could you update the HC2 plugin in order to take account of this evolution.

Netatmo API Security Update

Dear Netatmo developer,

To improve the security of our products, we inform you that the Client Credentials grant type method will be completely removed. It will no longer be possible to authenticate with the username and password of the user. The effective date of this update is October 2022. How can you authenticate with Netatmo API ? From this date, the OAuth2 authorization code flow must be followed for authentication. You can find details on this method on our website:

Log in Go on your account Select the application for your test Click on "Generate a Token"   You can now use this Access Token for 3 hours.

Possible scenarios about that are being discussed right now.

@m.roszak, If you are deciding to update plugin for new authentication, maybe consider adding some new devices, like rain (do not know if this is implemented) and wind sensor.

Great news @m.roszak, if you are able to modify that before the delete old authentification method it will be a great job. If you need someone to test, no problem, I have a lot of netatmo devices ! Thanks for your help.

I just wanted to clarify - due this we can get a bug report, "why my HC3 does not have plugin for Netatmo" for example.
There was no intent to just "play with words", sorry if you misunderstood my intention.

Any update on this? The Netatmo plugin in HC2 is not updating temperature and humidity anymore, which is a nuisance, because I use the temperature reading as my main temperature setting for my living room, controlling my floor heating system. As winter is coming, I either need the plugin, or I have to put in a separate thermostat.

If we will alter the plugin on HC2 it won't be anytime soon, at least not for the start of the winter.

My Netatmo plugin same as my VD+scene still working on HC2 despite they "removed" Client Credentials grant type on October 2022

The “official” Fibaro plug-in is no longer updating after November last year (still showing 22.3 degrees for my living room for 3 months now), so something did change in the Netatmo api

You better check and restart your plugin. As I wrote in my previous post my official Fibaro Netatmo plugin is working just fine for one complete Netatmo station (added 3 additional indoor modules, wind and rain sensor) and for another one with just indoor and outdoor module.

I restarted the fibaro-Netatmo plugin, not updating data. I get the message “your account is connected”, but all devices give zeros. Removed and reinstalled the plugin, same, still no updates. No typos in both id’s I had to enter, did a copy/paste from my Netatmo account.
