After a battery-change you have to click the activation button or wait for auto-wakeup.

In my experience, waking up the device manually usually does the trick, but if it doesn’t, re-adding it (like you did) is the most reliable fix. It’s not ideal, but at least you’re not alone, many users run into this quirk.

    Hi,

After removing battery in many cases it helps to clean battery contacts on DW sensor, actually on all battery operated devices before inserting new battery. To clean, best choice is to use electro-cleaner applied to a soft tissue, but if you use knife or any other metal object that has no sharp and teethed edge to softly scratch contact is also OK, just do not use to much force not to damage surface of the contacts.

Also, in most cases device wake up it self as soon as battery is inserted, if that is not the case, even after cleaning contacts, then just remove battery, wait for few seconds and then reinsert ne battery. That should do the trick.

I have many Fibaro battery powered devices and I never needed to re-add them after battery replacement.

Just remember that it helps to use recommended battery type. If you go for anything else or recharged batteries then most probably battery status will fail.
