Despite Shelly documentation saying this the Wave 1 PM works fine with Fibaro Z-Wave engine 2, it didn't, so thought I'd try engine 3. Upgrade ran fine, no problems noticed so far, still no joy with these devices though. I'm updward of 3 hours on getting the device recognised. Best so far was adding it after the 20th attempt but it not being configured. A few hours of reconfigure and got as far as a binary switch and heat detector found (instead of the power monitoring).

Welcome any suggestions.

Pull the logs from the hub and send it over PM, I will check what is the issue here (preffered logs from ZW3.0 as its certified Z-Wave engine).

PS
99% chance that device does not work fully within the Z-Wave specification - I will tell you exaclty where the issues lies on specification side.
From the other hand, I am not sure if Shelly will be willing to fix it at the end.

Hi @StoreyWho,

Shelly 1PM devices work fine for me using Z-Wave 2.0.

I did have a problem with HC3 not being able to complete the configuration process with Shelly 1PM Mini.
Opened a ticket with Shelly and they were quick in fixing the firmware to make it fully work with HC3.

Out of interest, What does the Shelly do that Fibaro Switch can't? Is it just a higher current switching capacity?

24v for irrigation valves. Was advised the Fibaro switch is not approved for 24v or any inductive load.

They refused to play ball for me. Spent some hours getting them added, which eventually happened but without any configuration (no template) and no power monitoring. Added parameters manually, got them working briefly, then they went back to failed/not configured on next reboot.

My Shelly 1PM is on firmware 13.02 and it paired without any issues. It is possible that the device is faulty - I had one faulty 1PM which behaved exactly like yours and had to return it.

The best option is to open a ticket with Shelly support.

The device works fine but there is no template from Fibaro - this is not something they will be able to help with.

Fair enough. Yes it is a shame that Fibaro don't make an equivalent device. For this use case I have used Fibaro Implant plus slave relay. Shelly does have a cost and size advantage here though.

Thank you. I'll try upgrade firmware next week.

@krkkrk, can you point me to a guide for updating the devices? I can't get the added to Fibaro so can't OTA. Tried with zwave PC Controller, added a Shelly to that first time with no issues. However, the update button is greyed out 😒

I am updating devices with a z-wave stick using Silicon Labs software.
Here is the procedure for a different vendor but it works the same with Shelly:

Please login or register to see this link.

Follow the Simplicity Studio's PC Controller OTA Updates procedure.

If you cannot pair with the PC Controller or the upgrade is not working open a ticket with Shelly support.

Much appreciated, thank you. That guide is far more useful than the RTFM nonsense I've just had back from Shelly!

Have several times got the update started. Runs at a snail pace and has failed a few times, still trying. Following some DM conversations with @m.roszak , I appear to have a noisy neighbour misbehaving on my network which might be to blame.
