Interestin info about the Danfoss Living Connect thermostats

I received the following comment from the Danfoss technical support regarding the Living Connect Thermostats:

The Living Connect is supposed to be linked to our central controller called Danfoss Link. As the building regulations (Part L) requires what is know as a "boiler interlock" we have not yet launched these products in the UK.

Although the Living Connect is based on Z-wave technology it is not communicating all information in an open format. Some of the information it transmits and receives is closed and unique to Danfoss

My enquiry was sent to [email protected] and passed around several internal people looking at the thread trail in the reply email I got.

Has anybody else had any problems with the Danfoss Living Connect stats?

budda,

It is true. Danfoss closed their comunication protol, and because of that they are not compatibile with any z-wave controller. Their devices didn't get Z-WAVE Europe Certificate. Only Danfoss Living Connect Radiotor thermostat is fully compatibile with Z-WAVE (have z-w eu certificate) and of course is fully compatibile with Fibaro and works great

It's good to know the HC2 supports Danfoss properly then.

    Hello,

I am an integrator from Spain. I got a customer who have a complete Dafoss system (central controller Danfoss Link). We wonder if it is possible hava in his house 1 Z-Wave network and control the valves both from the Danfoss controller and the HC2.

    Thanks and regards.

I think the danfoss stats only get paired with one controller when they are in 'm' mode.
