New iPad app will be available in 6-8 weeks

Also this other announcements:

-.SMS integration – they’re still doing trials with partners, but should be “any time soon”.

-.Full API is on the cards, possibly very soon indeed, including information push to eg ifttt.com, Facebook etc.

-.Door window sensors, battery powered universal sensors, and (EU only) plugin modules in October.

-.Universal IO module soon.

-.After that they have a battery of sensors planned going in to next year: gas sensor, smoke sensor, propane/butane sensor, chlorophorm sensor, PIR and “multisensor”.

-.There are no plans to release an in-car product.

-.Beta software release will make a return in a couple of weeks.

I hope in the future, if they will say new product will be release tomorrow, it should be release tomorrow. Not the other day. If they cant they should not. We can understand them.

I'd rather hear that it will be released in three months from now and that they stick to it than what is happening now.

Who exactly are they competing with that they need to make these bold and clearly unfulfillable commitments?

I can not give you exact timeline, but It is in final stage of development process.

Not really useless, you can install and use the iphone version of the interface on your ipad.
