Fibaro Dimmer Module - 2way or Two way switch (Vera)

Hello Fibaro,

Great product!.

I have been trying to find out how to wire a 2way switch (i.e. a light setup controlled by two bistable switches).

I have a vera lite.

I have a dimmer module which i understand is the best in this case as it doesnt require neutral.

i have two existing bistable switches controlling the lights.

I would ideally like to be able to switch (not dim) energy saving lamps

From research i have found this schematic that I understand was produced by you guys.

Please login or register to see this link.

however it didnt find much info on the how.

I connected the dimmer as such but it doesnt work.

Question 1:

What am i missing? is there an issue due to the fact i am using bistable switches? do i need to toggle the bistable switch to get a on off functionality?

Question 2:

If i have Neutral available should i connect it directly to N? does it help in some way?

Question 3: (yes i ask a lot

is the Sx output useless in this case?

Question 4:

should s2 be configured somehow to trigger s1?

Question 5:

is the fact that i am using the existing bistable (two way ) switches a problem?

Question 6:

could i use a module which isnt the dimmer (i.e. 2*1,5) if i have a neutral available?

Again thanks for the product and looking fw to the support. If I solve this out i will be equipping a number of lights with this module.

ok i managed to figure this out myself. here are the answers incase someone has basic knowlegde and want to accomplish this.

    Ok got it.

So for Noobs in simple language (this is what I couldnt find at all anywhere)

The dimmer module by Fibaro supports two way switches.

    I used FGD211 v1.4 - v1.8. I am also using vera lite ui5 but this isnt relevant.

My set up has two bistable switches (on or off - no spring bouncing it back).

You have to set the parameter 14 as per manual to bistable switches as the default is monostable

You have to set the parameter 17 as per manual as this enables two way switching.

you have to wire the switches as per attached diagram and not as per manual.

you can use your existing 2way switches or change to normal on off switches. (basically they are the same thing)

diagram (for 2wire system - i.e. no neutral available) :

Something to add here regarding your choice of lamps. When you do tests always use halogen lamps (i.e. above 28w tested in my case) these work the best as fibaro dimmers need an extra component if you want to switch very small loads. I also tested a 8w LED lamp which is dimmable. the conclusion is that if you connect your dimmer module's N directly to neutral it can switch it (on off). if there is no direct connection (and you connect N to O (this is the difference between two wire and three wire )) then the light would not switch. CFL lamps wouldnt work either. you probably need the extra module for those to work.
