FGBS321 Universal Binary Sensor - Adding DS18B20 Sensors

Recommended Posts

Posted

Just been playing some more with my universal sensor on the breadboard. Just added a DS18B20 temperature sensor but can't get HC2 to recognise the temperature sensor at all. I get the two INput devices, but there should be a fourth for the temp sensor.

Has anyone else had any success, or any suggestions? I've tried resetting the sensor by holding down the B button whilst powering on the sensor. No joy.

i have 2 sensors w temp sensors attached to them

the way i do is connect all the wires and then add the sensor with pressing button 3 times

the device is discovered with 3 nodes then

adding the sensors later does not work, you must include them with first inclusion

regards

I've been through a few experiments and repeated inclusion/exclusions didnt work. However, I went through a full reset of the sensor by:

Whilst holding down B button - Power off, Power On, wait 10 secs, release button

    Power off, powered on

.. waited 10+ secs (for it to interrogate all (one!) the sensors)

Then went through inclusion. The instruction sheet is definitely ambiguous regarding Reset and about what needs to be done. See III Fibaro Sensor start-up, Section 2. Resetting the Fibaro Sensors, Method II for the exact words.

@Kuuno - I think you're right in that you need to have the sensors hooked up for the first inclusion, otherwise you need to contemplate a sensor Reset.

    Back to the breadboard now.

I also tried to include an universal sensor with the temp sensor attached at the beginning... but no luck at all!

I can´t see the temp sensor in HC2, only the in1 and in2.

I think there is something missed here...

I've been doing lots of this today, but religiously folllowed this:

Whilst holding down B button - Power off, Power On, wait 10 secs, release button

    Power off, powered on

.. waited 10+ secs (for it to interrogate all (one!) the sensors)

Did that not work for you? Make sure you delete the device before embarking on the above, and only when you've done the above, add the device again.

just one tips that seems to be a rule (hopefully)

when you connect all the sensors it might be pretty hard to find out which is which in the console. for me the closest on the bus wire was first in order and so on till the last one was the on on the end of bus wire

for me just deleting and readding sensor has worked so far in case any troubles

I've tried with two different brand new universal sensors (this units were never include into HC2 yet).

I've soldered the Dallas sensor to it, and with the whole package I've tried to include in the network. But only Universal Sensor was detected. The temp unit was not recognize

Impossible to reset the Universal Binary sensor for temperature.

Whilst holding down B button - Power off, Power On, wait 10 secs, release button

    Power off, powered on

.. waited 10+ secs (for it to interrogate all (one!) the sensors)

    The manual writes;

    "Method II

Resetting by cutting off the power supply and re-connecting the

power supply while holding down the B button – after 10 seconds,

after another cut-off and re-connection of power supply the settings

of the device will be reset."

Does the manual mean that you have to keep the B button pressed in the first power up sessions and release it after 10 seconds, or do they mean disconnect power after 10 seconds while still holding the B button pressed..

Followed all the steps have also swapped DS18B20 sensors no difference any suggestions.
