Boiler actuators

Question

Can anybody recommend a boiler relay actuator that is:

* compatible in the UK/EU power/boilers

* compatible with the Home Centre 2

* can control heating and water independently

My Horstmann ASR2-ZW seemed like the ticket, but it hasn't been supported by HC2 for months now, and i'm getting a bit tired of hanging on so would like to consider alternatives that work right now.

Suggestions please.

You can use Fibaro Relay Switch 3kW module and Everspring Temperature&Humidity sensor or DS18B20 sensor connected to Universal Sensor, and the Horstmann functionality can be fully replaced by Linked Device and Heating panel.

what a disappointing answer. In a couple of threads fibaro is stating that the HRT4 would be supported quick. And now you are recommending costumer who have bought fibaro and HRT4 to replace it by an other product. I personally bought both because I assumed that fibaro would keep words...

  • The problem with Fibaro Relay Switch 3kW is that there's no manual override when HC2 is unavailable (for whatever reason) or no control is nearby to switch on the heating outside the schedule.

    I am only givin you alternatives for now. As I said before we make our best to make this device fully compatibile, but it is not Fibaro fault, that Horstmann created device that there is not designed to work with any controller.

    My HRT ASR-ZW is working very good, i have combined it with the Fibaro universal binary sensor as a room thermostat. With linked devices i made a link between the sensor and the HRT ASR-ZW. It works very good, a can also overrule the heatingpanel with my iPhone. It's very easy to setup. Please remember the Horstmann thermostat is not working, only the boiler actuator!

    It is one way of many applications of Universal Sensor

    The difference is you're only controlling the heating and not the hot water.

    I did have the asrzw but sent it back as I needed two channels.

    Budda, just for my own clarification.. Is it that the ASR-ZW supports 2 channels, but it's the Fibaro that can't support the two channels?

    Yes its a 2 channel switch. HC2 does recognise both of the sub devices fine, but seems to rendered them as thermostats with a temperature setting rather than any ability to simply switch either of them on or off.

    So I suspect something in the z-wave profile identifier code on the HC2 is missing...

    Fibaro said they are personally checking it out this week. So will report back soon I hope!
