Pls share your experience and various methods you have used to control ventilation.

I control my ventilation using a RGBW module.

The motor of my central ventilation system has a 0-10V Control Input.

1.7, V corresponds to 50 m³/h, 10 V corresponds to 300 m³

I powered the RGBW module using a 12V DC adapter and connected:

0-10V Control Input + to IN1

0-10V Control Input - to R

I control my ventilation (storkair 550) with a raspberry pi (trough an RS232 connection)

on the raspberry there is a perl script who gives me a web inteface but also push settngs and a json

I the created a virtual module to control everything

running now for 3 months perfectly !

part of code:

I can now control my ventilation from my phone and also regarding the CO2 level.

Doesn't that present any problems? As I understand from the manual, the RGBW can't provide a real 0-10V output signal, only 12V PWM.

Leon - how is your ventilation working with pwm signal?

[ Added: 2014-05-29, 10:37 ]

I found good solution to use RGBW to control 0-10V input devices (ventilation etc)

WeI used two options so far in homes of our customers.

1, we've used a Fibaro dimmer to preset the ventilationlevel on a toilet ventilator, it works well for this client because in the past it makes too many noise and now its more silent. He turns it on and off with a motionsensor while the light turns on.

2. In Holland we have in all new build houses ventilation boxes with 2-1-3 switches connected to them. The box is always working on level 1 and you can switch 2&3 to speed it up. We use a Fibaro 2x1,5kW switch to switch level 2&3 . You can also associate with shower humidity or with kitchenlight, toiletlight, bathroom light etc.

smartronix,

Can you share the second option how you configured that? I have an Itho box, but I only have now on or off..
