I've had the Dimmer module installed and working for a few months now using an existing bi-stable switch whilst i hunt down some nice reactive/mono push button switches.

Anyway - at some point my family switched the bi-stable on and off quickly. This got the Dimmer module and the switch out of sync and now the wall switch wont turn the lights on or off!

I can still control the lights from the HC2 module app or web page UI - but it's not ideal long term.

The instruction leaflet supplied with the Dimmer module is difficult to determine if there's a process I should go through to make the wall switch work again with the Dimmer module.

Help!

You could modify your existing bistable switches with a spring to make them monostable...

These are nice. Have the monostable one at home.

Which version module do you have? (It should say in the title section of the manual)

I assume you have tried to exclude and then re-include the dimmer to your network?

You should be able to completely reset the dimmer by holding down the B button for 5 seconds immediately after connecting mains voltage.

The easiest way to do this is to turn of the circuit for lighting at the switchboard and turn back on while someone at the dimmer can press the B button on the dimmer at the switch location.

You will need to re-enroll the dimmer after this to connect it back to your HC2 and wake up the dead nodes also connected to this lighting circuit

    Thanks for the suggestions.

But i dont understand why i need to remove the dimmer from the zwave network? I can control it fine from HC2 and change its parameters. So seems odd that i need to reset with button B.

Can anybody share their HC2 config for the Dimmer module which works with a bi-stable switch so i can compare with mine.

Actuallynthe only thing you need is switch type set to bistable. Other settings can stay default.

Are you sure you dont have bad contact?

It's the simple things I didn't consider. You were right! I opened up the wall switch and one of the cables was lose. Re-screwed it down and everything is working fine again! So it was either just the lose wire, or the fact i turned the fuse for the light circuit off and on and the wall switch started working again. (bearing in mind the HC2 on/off was working more or less all the time - except for a few dead node messages)

    Thanks Kuuno!
