Considering the activity that was just before then end of auction then the product must still be pretty good:)

perhaps the seller who has sold the fibaro has not been able to provide adequate directions ... I think there are many dealers who sell fibaro like a washing machine or a blender

I'm not totally agree with that antamaga.

The major problem is a poor compatibility with modules and no compatibility listed by Fibaro, so the users are tired of buying modules who didn't work and keep them in there closet, wasting money, and building an half home automation system finally.

Sorry to tell but I'm waiting for some announcements from Fibaro till the end of the year after that, if nothing change, i'll sell my box at Ebay and pass to the competitor.

I still would like to see this box being on the top but time passed and we still have just promises...

I'm also afraid that the HC2 could be a Fibaro box for Fibaro module and nothing else... witch isn't what i'm looking for.

Everyone has their own expectations, and I when I married HC2 I decided to test each accessory before putting it on the market and before you install it in all my clients, and the result now is that I do not have a lot of customers in the system FIBARO, but those who use modules I tested seem to me happy and they plan to buy more for their customers ... one step at a time.

    Sorry for my English.

well, i would be more advise to buy my HC2 to you antamga cause now i've got a lot of module not compatible sleeping in my cupboards !

also, you do the Fibaro's job by testing each accessory and it would be more easier and faster if Fibaro publish this list.

I really don't understand why they did not share that with there customers ...

    I agree with antamaga!

the point that users buy different devices and fibaro HC2 from a random shop tells a lot about the shop - no support

the way this should work is that reseller supports end users and resellers contact fibaro for questions

the list is available in the manual, it is not the biggest but growing

i also provide fibaro products to my customers with all support and so far everyone is happy

    just find a good reseller!

yes, i'm agree with you, all the boxes have there kind of cases but the HC2 is the one with the poorest compatibility and that sadly limit his use and the users creativity.

This kinds of worrys has been for months and are still case.

Also, the continuous lies for the delay when we ask for an update of compatibility amplify disappointment from the customers.

To be honest, I can't explain this behavior and really don't understand why...

    Hi Cirion,

    Great post.

I'm a little bored of all this Fibaro bashing, so it is clear that people that had a lot of other (non_Fibaro) Z-Wave devices are disappointed, but from what I can see every controller only supports a limited number of devices so what exactly were you guys expecting when you bought Fibaro? That you will conveniently have everyone of your devices supported by Fibaro from day one. How could this be possible given that HC2 has been around for less than 1 year?

HC2 is maybe less than a year but this is not totally a new product since it is updated HC controller (IMHO). Regarding what I would love to see is having possibility to write my custom modules which would act like z-wave devices but their state would be updated using API instead of z-wave protocol (I have some custom solutions build on arduino like boards). This would open doors for a lot of great possibilities and integrations.

    I'm disappointed too.

And it has nothing to do with my reseller.

HC2 might be the best product available right now (other brands might be worse, I don't know, I can't afford it to test other brands).

I noticed Fibar is more active on this forum but I just don't like, for instance, that Fibar claims on this forum in may this year that the android app will be available in a few weeks and it is still not. Whatever the reason to start with the IOS-app is fine with me but also make the androidversion available. When you change (upgrade) the IOS-app you can do that also for android. Don't forget your promisses cause you're busy with new "flashy" devices or features!

I had 1 EZmotion 3in1 and 1 Everspring SPB14. The everspring never worked, I could add it but could not configure it. My HC2 got broken, took it to my reseller, meanwhile I bought some more EZMotion. Today I got a brand new HC2 (yes, my reseller is more than OK) and gues what, I çan't even add the Everspring or the EZMotion. Sure, looking at [glow=blue]

[/glow] noticing they are not listed my cupboard also get's filled up with expensive useless devices. Why should I complain at my reseller it is Fibar who messes up! L'm just an ordinairy end-user and have no idea how z-wave really works (why should I?) I expect that how Fibar profiles their HC2 that any certified device is compatible.

So I'm selling my cupboard with z-wave devices starting with the HC2, save some money and start with the more expensive KNX. Hoping that it is not also disappointing and if my cupboards don't get filled up again it might be even cheaper

A friend of mine has installed KNX in his home. Great if you are building from scratch like he was and yes you are right, it costs a lot more, but it DOES work. He's still configuring it at great length which is pretty much one of the biggest advantages of HC2, but I don't hear him complaining about compatibility.

It is greatly disappointing to me that all or nearly all z-wave devices don't work on all or nearly all of the controllers. This is definitely a lie of the z-wave alliance. I as a novice came into this expecting very good compatibility across the board. That's what all the marketing material and reviews say, but the reality is a different thing.

trust me, also KNX devices amongst companies do not work all together from scratch

and compared how long has knx been on the market then z-wave has a lot to do but it has come a long way already

Right, so this is where I put my novice hat. For some reason I thought you could wire up a non-z-wave thermostat (like the nest or something similar in appearance) to still work in the system.

I assumed that you would lack functionality i.e. you would not be able to, or at least you wouldn't want to, set up timed schedules on the thermostat as they would fall out of sync with the HC2, but I thought you might be able to setup simple temp overrides, so in certain cases you could just bump up the temp in a room via the thermostat.

The more I think about it, it's probably completely unworkable as HC2 wouldn't know what was going on, unless of course you get a thermostat that sends constant "boiler on" signals for a pre-determined period of time and you told Fibaro to not turn the boiler off if it's been turned on remotely... meh, who knows.

Ok I trust you on your word.

So I will stop my complaints here and start them at the z-wave alliance.
