Fibaro controlled solutions

Lets try to make this simple and same format. Post your solution. Im pretty sure users will find ideas here and share knowledge

Controlled place: house 185 m2

Total modules: about 25

Lightning: 10 dimmers

Plugs: 1 -2x1,5 kw

Underfloor heating: 3- 2x1,5kw (7 zones)

Multiple unversal sensors w 8 temp sensors connected around the house

ITach wifi 2 ir module

Aeonlabs 4-1 sensors x2

Aeonlabs minimote

Aeonlabs door/window sensor

Expresscontrols 3-1 sensorsx3

Everspring water sensor

Everspring smoke detectors

Description:

Heating is underfloor controlled by 2x1,5 modules and heating panel in hc2. Lowering temp during night and daytime for testing...

Universal sensors have temp sensors connected to them and report every 0,25 deg change. Ihad 2 sensors per room for teting.

Lightning is controlled by switches converted to monostable pushbuttons(very easy convert!). Using multiple associations for more comfort- so called stair switches

Some rooms use aeonlabs sensors for auto on off lights.

Using scenes to control outside lights according to sunrise sunset.

Multimedia is xbmc media center, epson projector, motor screen, yamaha amp. All controlled from HC2. Itach wifi2ir isncontrolled by hc2 and wrks very well so far. Sometimes ive had problems to turn off projector as it has the same code for on off but i will solve this by adding universal sensor to check the state

Single push mode for movie watching ( dim lights, start projector, amp, roll down screen)

Single push chillout mode- start chillout playlist in xbmc . Easy to make morning scene where news start playing at 8 am...

Still to overcome pc wakeup problem( no wol support in hc2).

For moving around in xbmc i use native app!

Ventilation is controlled by dimmer module. For my installation works ok. For bigger systems 2x1,5 kw modules can be used for speed control.

Safety is in development but using magnetic valve to switch off man water supply incase leakage. Lights start blinking and etc...

Fire alarm will turn on all lights and turn off vent- under development currently

Comments- so far not a single dead node except when light bulb dies ( 1 year soon). Sensors could have constant power but too late for that at this stage. Missing scene activation by switch click the most probably.

You're made all this things works with the HC2?

I Have the Minimote, and it doesn't work.

minimote is added to HC2 as secondary controller but associations are done using the minimote itself. currently works with our 2 solutions like this with no problem

@Kuuno show me how to do this. i have the minimote, but can't use it!

I have one minimote, the only way I have found to use it with HC2 is: include my minimote in HC2 with learn button and use it as secondary controller... I can remote directly device from my HC2 and with minimote because I associate device to the minimote. But I can't trigger scene or other ... Best regards.

Yes that is the way right now. If you add it to hc2 it appears as secondary controller so it can access the zwave network. The use the manual provided w minimote to make associations to buttons. Scene class will be available in newapi...

One downside wemhae found is that squares on buttons ware out pretty fast...

For waking up the XBMC PC, if it has a MCE ir eye, you could use your Itach wifi2ir to wake it up. BIOS must support wake on ir or wake on USB if you have a USB dongle.

I made a small test today with Universal sensor. If the sensor is dead node (out of range or without power) and then again connected to a network it works instantly. This way i am going to test tomorrow so called car module. I have created a Scene where one of the universals motion sensors breached will turn on my living room light.

Now I will install universal sensor to my car and blue+green wires to a relay which will connect leads when I turn on the high beam lights. As universal sensor reaches my zwave network it should be ready to send command and trigger my scene where the light will be turned on.

I will let you know tomorrow, if this works like this, it will be good and cheap way to expand opportunities with fibaro.

Edit: Also if this works well, we can make scenes where something will be triggered when car starts without our permission - someone wants to steal it..

Please keep me informed I'm a little interested in the "carmodule".

But what if I can't park in front of my door???

I don't know the max range....

I tried minimote and it worked fine around the house as well. I live on the 5th floor and the house is made of concrete. Outdoor the range is decent. How far is the farest you may park your car if there is no free space at the door? Maybe I will test this aswell tomorrow.

Normal distance to parking is prox 20 meters.

When spot is used it might be 60 meters.

Minimote? I Will have to contact Kuuno again

@Lauri, I really like this thinking-outside-the-box idea. Keep me posted also on progress. The universal is so small that it might fit into one of these empty cigarette lighter plugs

(for example). I'd be interested in what state the Universal Sensor appears to be in with the HC2 when it's out of range. If it doesn't change state from an HC2 perspective, then one option might be for when the car powers up, the sensor IN1 is closed to report 'Breached' and when the car is off then IN1 is open and reports "Not Breached".

Hi again, test has been made and it was SUCCESSFUL!

Installed the module for test purposes only and when I parked my car and pushed the test button it worked with the first touch. So it means universal sensor can be used as gate opener, or something else to trigger from the car.

Futuretech - Im afraid that this 70 meters will be too much for z-wave, it also depends on the location of the universal sensor I guess. If it has direct look to your apartment and HC2 is near window it helps alot. My HC2 is in the middle of the apartment and it works well from 5th floor and if the car is parked near my window.

davedotnet - universal sensor should be regular dead node when it is out of range. But once it gets zwave connection again it is as movement "ON" for me. And when I push the test button, it changes its statement. It seems that it will always give such information how is the actual situation.

Thx for sharing the testresult, I will keep it in mind.

If I can't find anyone who can create something with Glonass and/or GPS for my Phone I think I will do something with this.

1000 thanks for sharing your project, Kuuno

Regarding your problem (if not solved yet

Sometimes ive had problems to turn off projector as it has the same code for on off but i will solve this by adding universal sensor to check the state

as an alternative you can use Fibaro plug and monitor energy consumption. The device will consume different power in stand by and on modes, so you can easily know its real state.

i solved this by using discrete off command and now it turns off every time but the wallplug approach is also good!

I think WOL is now possible using Net.FUdpSocket. I haven't tried though. Perhaps you solved this a long time ago anyway...
