Getting the SP814 Motion to work

Guest hotrot_net

Question

Guest hotrot_net

Did a lot of search finally got the SP814 Motion detection to work.

See picture for settings.

With these setting motion is detected and SP814 goes back to rest state in 10 sec.

Just to add some detail around those settings:

Parameter 3 is the Sensitivity Level and has a range from 1-10, so setting to 10 is the highest sensitivity

Parameter 4 is Re-trigger Interval Setting and has a valid range of 5 secs to 3600 secs. It's not clear what setting it to zero (0) will do. This needs to be a 'size' of 2 if you exceed 127. This is the period in which after a trigger, the detector will ignore any further triggers.

Parameter 6 is the On-Off Duration Setting and has a valid range of 5 secs to 3600 secs. This needs to be a 'size' of 2 if you exceed 127. This is the delay after which the device will send the OFF command to any associated devices (including the controller #1)

Hi hotrot_net

I have a motion Detector SP814 and will be happy to see you success to make it OK with Fibaro HC2.

I try again in version 1.043:

- exlude it

- include it

- add parameters 3, 4 and 6 as you notice

- save configuration

My SP814 is recognized by HC2 and notice Attempt to wake up, but if i want to read this 3 the parameters, i see no parameters.

I wake up the SP814 by 3 actions on button SP814.

The HC2 notice that this module is in configuration, and the parameters appears in configuration bur with another value :

- parameter 3 write 10 read 10

- parameter 4 write 0 read 5

- parameter 6 write 10 read 40

Even after several hours. THE SP814 stay in configuration, and finally it does not work.

So what’s wrong in my process, may you give me more informations.

Best regards

parameter 4 write 0 read 5

Parameter 4 can't be zero (0), it has to be a minimum of 5 (secs). It might be that setting this is causing none of the values to be set, possibly ???

  • Do you only need the params 3 and 4 and 6?

Is there no need for parameter 1 and 2 and 5?

I am testing several weeks now with all kinds off settings but it does not work, it also is not found in the event panel......

I agree, i try to configure and use it after every update fibaro releases. But it is always the same problems. Its found in HC2 but the settings not working

I am very new to HA and have just bought a HC2 (V1.043) and several sensors/devices, most of which seem to work ok, however I can't get the SP814 to read any other parameters other than motion (I want to use light levels) the error message is ' parameters template not configured for this device. Device will be reconfigured'. I also can't the wake up interval time to alter, if I change it and 'save' it reverts back to 4000s when I revisit the device.

None of the devices I have seem to report anything when the tamper switches are activated, is this normal?

Nigel, I just looked at the SP814 documentation and the word 'tamper' does not appear in there, so I'm not sure how it would be reported. Group ID1 (and associations) is used to report ALARM_REPORT and SENSOR_BINARY_REPORT. Maybe the tamper switch initiates the SENSOR_BINARY_REPORT message??

Essentially, the device has very limited support in HC2. Only the proximity sensor works. Make sure you have it "armed". Additionally, this is battery class device, so it will only take receipt of values when it wakes up periodically (to conserve battery). Default wakeup time is 1hour, or, when the alarm is triggered. The HC2 *should* queue up the parameter settings for the next time the sensor wakes up.

    Hi Dave

The SP814 works ok as a motion detector but I was hoping to use the light level sensor as well, but if there is limited functionality, then maybe not.

The tamper issue is mainly regarding an Everspring HSP02 motion sensor and Aeon Labs door/window sensors which don't seem to send show up on the HC2 when the tamper switches are operated.

A separate problem is I can't seem to include the new Everspring door/window sensor (the small one) even when they are right next to the controller and in 'receive' mode for siganls from the HC2.

  • Hi,

I also tried to get the SP814 functional, but without any luck. My SP814 ist recognized by HC2 (1.043) and it´s also possible to read out the params once. After that the device do nothing. When I tried to arm the sensor nothing happens. No reaction on movement and so on.

Are there any further tipps to get this sensor with the f... HC2 to work?
