HC2 and wired stuff

Hello, I'm new on these forums, but I got some starting questions.

I don't have a HC2 yet, but it's something I have in mind for January to purchase.

As I deal with security, most of our installations are wired, and personally, I prefer wired over wireless if that's possible.

I wonder if it's possible for HC2 to communicate with PLC, and what PLC would you guys suggest? As I'd like to control multiple I/O, all located in one spot. (Electric closet)

Thanks in advance

Interesting question, but no reply... I'm also thinking about PLC

Any news?

The HC2 can send http requests along with TCP messages, so it should be possible. The response to the HC2 is more complicated, but if you can find a PLC which can handle a JSON module, that should be pretty straight forward. Otherwise you need to build some sort of response module into the PLC.

But just out of curiousity, why do you want a HC2 if you don't want wireless? It is much easier to just have a webserver with a script to handle the data you get back from your PLC.

I'm using RPI that acts as an RS232 bridge toward an OMRON CQM1.

On the other side HC2 send command on the ethernet using a virtual device.
