I already have the Fibraro 2x1.5KW switches happily controlling some lights in my house where I don't need dimming. These installed and setup fine on normal bi-stale light switches.

I've just purchased 4 new Fibraro dimmers from Vesternet UK but cant get them working at all!

They are all v1.9 firmware if this makes a difference.

Firstly when they are added to the Zwave network then the remove seems to turn on/off and dim reliably so that part is fine. What I cant get working is the manual switch.

I am using a Varilight 10A 2-way & off retractive switch.

When parameter 14 is set to 1 I can use one side of the switch to turn on/off the light. When I set this parameter to 2 though (roller blind type for my switch type) the switch wont work at all. In either mode the switch wont dim the lights.

I thought the whole point of a two way and off (centre) momentary switch would be that click one way is on and click the other is off? Also then holding down the switch in either state would dim in up/down respectively in that direction.

I really need some help on this as had these for 2 weekends now and making no progress and Vesternet support are dragging their feet too on helping.

Can anyone advise ASAP on what the correct parameter settings are right for this switch type.

I'm getting close to returning all of these as not fit for purpose at the moment as they are just a pig to get working and the poor instruction leaflet doesn't help. I'm pretty advanced in technical skills and these things are meant to be easy retrofit but wow something is lacking here.

Incidentally button B I thought was meant to be used to include/exclude the device? On mine when I press it it either turns the light on/off or dims it. That's all it does which seems at odds with what the manual says!

Ah I've made a bit of progress.

I didn't realise that I also need to connect the "L2" terminal on the switch to the "S2" connection on the relay; I thought that was for a second switch that was linked to an association. The user documentation is poor here if this is correct.

So now with para 14 = 2 and para 17=1 I can turn on with side of rocker connected to "S1" and off with side of rocker connected to "S2". Also holding rocker side on "S2" will dim the light DOWN. Strange though if I hold the other side ("S1") then the light goes to full on instead of dimming UP.

I also found that I need Para10=0 for everything to work. I have 3x50w GU10 halogens in the fitting so don't understand why I need to set this?

Can anyone fill in my missing gaps?

Regards

Julian

There is a bug in Dimmer software v1.9 so you need to set par. 10 to 0 if you want to use S2. As far as I know Fibaro is working on that issue.
