Linking Sx terminals for multiple FGD211 dimmers

I'm building my own switch panel which will be remote from the Fibaro FGD211 dimmers as there isn't space to install the dimmers in the same backbox. As a result, I'm only intending to install cabling to switch the S1 and Sx terminals (I'm using 0.75mm cable).

Conscious of the number of wires that I will need to feed to my switch panel, I was wondering whether it was acceptable to link the Sx terminals together for several FGD211's? That way, I only need a single common Sx wire in the switch panel, and individual wires for the S1 terminals for the six or so switches/dimmers.

Is this an acceptable way of wiring up these units, or do I definitely need individual Sx and S1 pairs?

Thanks

Hi

That shouldn't be any problem. In my installation I don't have any switch wired to Sx (most becouse there isn't enough space for two wires in the same connection). My livewire go to the switch wich have place for two wires and from this point to livewire connection on dimmer. From the other side of the switch I have one wire to S1 or in a few cases S2.

I think that as long as you use same phase (L1, L2, L3) you never need to use Sx.

When I looked at some older documentation it seems that older dimmer didn't have the Sx connection at all and every switch was powered by the same livewire as the dimmer.

Andyman,

Exactly. On the Sx you will have always the same signal as on the L. So if it will be the same phase you can do not need to use it. You can just connect switch through L to S1 or S2.

Please notice that electric current can be danger, so all instalations should be performed by certified electricians!
