How can I build a soft alarm using the HC2?

What do you mean by soft alarm? Silent alarm or what?

I have a "tripwire" on the front/back door sensors which immediately push messages to my phone and mail it.

Please login or register to see this code.

  • With Soft Alarm I mean a Alarm system what is software based and works inside the HC2 using the existing zwave sensors.

Building with Lua and scenes is possible but it will be great to have a panel for this so that you can configure it without scenes.

You can build it with some free slaves from existing FGS switches or new FGS2x1,5. In the Modular Alarm Panel you can use them in the following way:

    1. S1 - Controlling and Status devices (both options the same switch)

    2. S2- Alarm - turn ON siren and send Push notification.

    Just 2 scenes:

Arm - if S1 == ON then "Arm all sensors"

Disarm - if S1 == OFF then "Disarm all sensors"

In all sensors set Parameter 5 to ALAM GENERIC and set Association 1 to S2.

In S2 Parameter 40 set "Device turn on when alarm is detected"

In this way you will be able to control it also from your iPhone using codes as well.

It requires 2 scenes but I believe that it's not very complicated.

To make sure it's a proper Alarm system you would need of course UPS for you HC2, Alarm switches and siren in case of power failure.

Haven't it tested yet this way though ...

Let me know if it works.

    PS

I agree that all we need in a HC Modular Alarm Panel is the option to Arm/Disarm selected devices and automatic configuration of sensors and switches.

I hope Fibaro will do it some time as they have received a "Certificate for HC as the alarm system"
