Mains power to Aeontec Multisensor

alex88

Question

I want to mains power my Aeontec multi-sensor via the USB port. Does anyone have a solution to connect the USB directly to the mains not via a power socket adapter?

I want the cable from the multi-sensor to be hidden in the wall rather than having to add a power socket in the ceiling and connect the USB cable to a mains adapter like this one:

amilanov, i think the Right way is insert derivation box in your wall and connect USB adapter to main power and put all in the box: discrete, efficiently and you can use to power a cam or light above for example

  • Great suggestion. Cheers. I'll find a local supplier and get my electrician to fit it in a concealed box. I'll tell you how it goes.

  • Thanks, but I am looking for a solution that has the USB wire is going into the wall so that the USB connection is hidden. Although if I can’t find one I will just go for wall sockets like you have pointed out. Good tip!

Also, the hidden option will be very cheap as I can use basic plastic parts, where as the Jung option will cost quite a bit.
