controlling sauna

Question

i had this idea today and wanted to share to make it better and more advanced

basically sofar to control sauna one would add relay switch and use scene to star/stop the sauna? While it is not in the heating panel or similar it is little complicated.

you could make different buttons for temp and time to heat but still not so good i think

i though of using a dimmer module to set the temperature.

dimmer level sets variable value and then script is used to turn relay on/off

lets say 0% = sauna off

10% = 40deg

20%=50deg

and so on

this gives the possibility to control sauna from external wall switch also but the downside is no visual notification

any ideas?

Hi Kuuno. Have you already installed a fibaro module to control sauna ? I have tried to figure out how to control sauna heater with external control panel and also with Fibaro remote access. For example heaters like: Helo, Kastor, Harvia. How did you connect the relay switch ?

Kuuno, I would use a GHI Electronics FEZ Cerberus Mainboard

Please login or register to see this link.

for example and code a little webserver UI to control an monitor all functions of the sauna (on / off / % deg / temp / humidity / all you want ...). I would use this with a virtual device in the Fibaro HC2 system. For the same price as 2 or 3 modules you can create a complete connected sauna with Advanced fonctions
