Hi,

are there any recommendations for IP Sec. cams which are working well with the HC2 system?

Thanks in advance

Foscam 8905, 8906, 8910, 8918 here.

All of them are working very well.

depends on how you define works...

Foscam: image is not great compared to competitors, lenses are very low cost, system security is dubious + materials are lighter and less robust than some

If you have not had anything better to compare Foscam with then you should try something better and see the difference. Many to choose from.

IMO: worth spending a bit more and avoiding certain popular cheaper makes unless you are happy with the compromise. Don't be fooled by the pixel count. More is not always better.

+1

currently transcode to give low resolution video for use in Fibaro but it would be great not to have that complexity

They told me, it is because people need to install vlc plugin to mozzila to use it. And it is for that they don't want use h264 but for me is a bad reason. All good camera use H264 so it is not normal fibaro don't use it.

Shad, yes vlc plugin works only on chrome and firefox and only on windows, that way we waiting fot native support from browsers (like firefox)

For me that is not your problem, if people want use H264, they change browser. Just signal it in the interface of the HC2 the list who support that.

but what with linux, IOS user? say them sorry you chose wrong system?

right now Mozilla testing new native 264 support when they gonna finish and release it as a stable then we gonna think about support 264

Yes, If you have IOS or windows (except windows 7) you chose wrong system
