Getting Device ID from Device Name

Hi,

Could anyone let me know if there is a documented way of getting a Device's ID from it's Name?

The use case is to cater for the situation where a faulty dimmer unit needs to be swapped out, and replaced with a new one (with the same Name), and I'd like my Lua scripts to be agnostic as to the Device ID and retrieve this dynamically by looking it up from the name.
