I am installing switches that will be solely used to initiate scenes. The Fibaro Dimmer module has a section on Scene activation:

“Parameter No. 41 - Scene activation functionality”.

This allows both S1 and S2 to be used to initiate scenes based on single, double and triple click. Based on this it looks like the front runner.

Does anyone have an opinion on the best Fibaro module to use?

I think dimmer is the best, roller shutter has also sceneactivation but most likely you are using more lights in your house than rollers.

The best module to use would be the RGBW Controller. That has 4x Contact Closure inputs that (as far as I can tell from the Manual) can be configured to trigger scenes from the HC2.

Bear in mind though, it needs DC power which is likely to present you with big issues if you're retrofitting.

I don't own one (yet) though so don't take the above as fact.

I can confidently say it's the Dimmer. I am still trying to sell my excess brand new non-dimmer modules. Any one want any blind modules?

The dimmer has built in scene activation and can support different scenes for single, double and triple click as well as scenes specifically around pressing and holding.

It is by far the most versatile module that I have come across.

I think the Fibaro Door Contact also can be used to activate scene by enabling it's scene activation features (Parameter 14). I hooked up a momentary switch to it's dry contact input and set the Parameter 3 to your respective type of switch. With those enabled you can single click, double click, triple click to activate respective scene. This is a good solution if you want a mobile switch (I put the door contact into a small box enclosure with my momentary switch and lay it on the kitchen table or the living room. If you want a wired solution, then the above would better suits you.
