new metering feature in lates firmware ? (gaz meter)

Question

Posted

I saw this in my dashboard

does it means that Fibaro is planning to add other meters than electric meters ?

I welcome this, I want to be able to monitor my gas, water (warm, cold and rain), and why not temperature, humidity.

This gas meter has been ther for a while now... And as far as I know, Northq is developing new sensor for reading gas/water and heat meters

Northq seem to be selling both gas and electricity readers - problem is that nothing apart from the Northq controllers are compatible as far as I can see.

And Northq are only selling a USB stick that needs Windows (spit) and Adobe Air (puke). They claim to have 2 embedded controllers, but they seem to be vapourware as I can find noone selling either in Europe.

On the plus side, the Northq readers "do it right" as the electricity one interfaces to the pulse output so gets a true kWh reading and not a current reading. And they assumed you might want a batter powered device - there are several that need mains/DC power which (ironically) is seldom available anywhere near most people's meters!
