As only a few devices of Fibaro do measure energy consumption I would like to see permanently the consumption of the house (3 phases) + gas.

I know AEON has the energy meter, but I see several topics it might not be supported by HC2. Also I think it is quite expensive.

Another option could be Toon (by Eneco in the Netherlands). You might get it for free when taking power from them. But the question is, is it possible to control Toon as a virtual device by using the URL's.

Please let me know if you have any other options.

In case AEON is the only good option, please let me know if this really works properly in the HC2 browser/iPad etc and if it is reliable. I have read that if you have 3 phases simultaneously (power supply 400V) it is not working properly?

AEON HEM is supported. I confirm. I used it.

The main "problem" is you cannot set it as "whole house consumption". It is used just as power meter.

thanks, what about gas? you need additional gear... is there a solution as well?

therefore I was looking at Toon. looks nice, but seems to be a kind of home controller while I want to use it as virtual device (to have a thermostate, temperature, measurement of gas and electricity)

yes it's possible and I just bought an ECO-device

You can then poll it to display/use informations in the HC2

the ECO-device for example has 2 pulse input port (gas and water)

On many gas meters, you can adapt a reed sensor to connect to a pulse input

A direct support for impulse counters by Fibaro would be awesome.

I think it's on the way, look at my post here: and feel free to +1

the problem wit those "counters" is that they are not accurate, for example they do not take into account the "cos phi" and it can make a huge difference.

For me the way to go is pulse meter, the only think who is difficult is to have the instant power consumption, but it can be calculated as medium of the latest minute for example.

I understand the pulse is just the best to measure exactly. The reed sensor looks ok and cheap. I think that will work on my gas. Can I use this reed sensor for electricity as well?

As Fibaro hasn't got a pulse counter, what did you use? Is that the ECO-device? Where can I find such a thing? I'm not sure what you are talking about...

It would be nice if the values can be integrated into Fibaro, something like "Total power consumption" not calculated by the sum of devices, but just the real value. To drill-down, the individual devices can give the detail information. If you deduct the sum of individual devices from this total (measured) you get "other" (not measurable individually). That would be the ultimate thing, or am I thinking way to far for Fibaro?

yes, connected to an eco-device but other counter network connected can work also.. altrough I didn't find something actually who can support 5 pulse counters (water, gas, electricity, hot water and rain water)

Here is an example (in french) interfacing an eco-device with fibaro (they can be bought at domadoo

I asked my supplier to have my electric counter with a pulse output, some have an optical led blinking that you can capture... have a look at flusko and ask your local electricity supplier

For Fibaro, I think that they are working on it if you have seen my screen capture.

They have the locic already with theyr wall plug and energy panel, It's not that difficult to expand but they have to take into account that the main counter and the individual counter have to be separated.

If they can have 3 total counter:

-all wall plugs and devices with counters

    - the main counter

    - one displaying the main counter minus the individual devices (to count all devices with no power consumption)

    It would be marvelous.

A.socha, any hints on this ?

I think I'm going to wait until Fibaro has its software up-to-date (and that might take a while...)

If I invest in a solution it should 100% work conveniently.

Probably Toon (only for Dutch market I guess) is a solution that fully fits. But not a lot response about that...

I had a mail conversation with fibaro regarding my NorthQ, it is a pulsemeter KWH.

It works now, but it's not showing in the energy panel...

Fibaro said that they are working on it and that it should be implemented before the end of this year. So....

Well, apparently they meant some other year than 2013. I would like to see NorthQ integration as well. The simple cumulative power reading is simply not good enough. I would like to see something like average power consumption during last x interval. Where x could be anything selected by user from 5 minutes, to 1 hour, to 24 hours, 1 week, 1 month, 1 year.

0000883 Request: Energy screen lack of power meter support

Is created for this purpose at bugzilla

Yeah well, this bug has been up there in bugzilla for 5 months already. Any idea when that could be fixed? If at all? I sort of expected to be able to monitor the actual energy consumption of the whole home without installing intelligent plugs everywhere. I mean the cost of doing that does not seem very sensible + some devices are much too powerful for the wall plug.

Come on, Fibaro! You can do it!

Yeah I am really interested in this, right now I have two S.E.P. CMD-1PD kWh sensors, on connected to all the groups in my house (users) and one to my solar panel groups.

They have a pulse output and output 2000 pulses for every 1 kWh. So every 0.5W used it gives a pulse.

    Details kWh sensor/counter:

You can just connect two wires to each sensor, could we use a binary sensor to transfer these pulses to the HC2 and then it would be awesome to use these two sensors to feed the energy monitor.

Right now I use a Flukso system to do this:

but it would be soo much better to use the HC2 for this too.

This updates the value's in real time to their dashboard so I can see my actual power use at any moment and for a day, week, month or year.

Can we expect anything like this to be implemented, as it will be far more accurate than just inputting the value's the manufacturer says for each device.

And than also show the Solar power besides it would be totally splendid.

Hi, I'm new in the forum and i'm looking for a z-wave system. I found this product

Please login or register to see this link.

I ask them if working with HC2, and they assure me that is the only system able to read the power consuming of the house, and if you have a photovoltaic system can use 2 pcs to have all a data.

Toon api is coming soon, im allready reading out my toon values with hc2, though i had to use a extrenal php page/webserver to get the values from toons. website and import them to hc2

what about a P1 interface? that's much more common than the Dutch smart-thermo Toon
