[solved] dimmer not turning fully off via momentary switch

Recommended Posts

Posted

I'm running into an issue with my dimmer that I can't get my head around.

When I press the momentary switch my light doesn't turn off completely. The light stays on at about 5% or 10%. Though I can turn off the light completely via the HC2 interface without a problem.

I have the most basic setup. 2 way wiring and a conventional incandescent bulb. All the dimmer values are on default.

Any pointers where I might look for a solution?

Update

I attached a new brand dimmer yesterday. Didn't change any of the settings. Still the same behavior.

I'm on HC2 3.562 and the dimmer is on version 2.2.

Update 2

I've attached a different dimmer to a toggle switch and that setup works flawlessly. The light turns fully on and fully off with the flip of a switch.

I also noticed something strange. I have to triple click the momentary switch the get the double click functionality (= turn light 100%).

I'm lost... Anyone?

My wild guess is that parameter 13 (Min. dimming level) is causing the trouble. The lowest value you can set this to is 1% but I'm thinking that if I could set this to 0% things would work just fine.

Solved

As usual the solution is plain simple. I had NO/NC mixed on my momentary switch. The fibaro manual doesn't say anything about this. Your circuit has to be NO and when you click it closes.
