Hi all,

Is there any news about the rule creator used in the HC2? I mean, the rule creator was one of the things I liked about the HC2 and what made me buy it (apart from the cool looks/design).

I am no LUA wizzard and I like to be able to make my rules in the rule creator.

I think it needs an update. There is no "else" you can use and it could use some other enhancements.

I don't really want to point to other manufactures as I really like the HC2 and have no intention to switch but the zipabox has a nice rule creator with a lot of options in it. I think they have got the base idea from the HC2 (maybe

I see a lot of things done in LUA which could also be done in a good rule creator.

My question is...is there any news about an update to the rule creator? Fibaro?

It can not be that you created it and left it as it is not improving it further.

For example, it would be nice if the users could create building blocks for the rule creator from small peaces of LUA code with variables in them. These we could share with other users and let it grow...

Would be nice to know if something new/updated is comming.

greetings,

Aaron

One, the name is create a scene not rule creator.

After did you try elseif, and I think the problem come from you and not hc2.

You must searh in the forum and you will see all hc2 can do.

    Hi Shad,

I am sure many things I don't know are because of me, I am still learning.

And sorry for not calling it a scene creator

/emoticons/default_icon_wink.gif" alt=";-)" /> but whats in the name.

I have searched the forum and I am following it a couple of times every day, that is not the problem. I would like to be able to create more complex "scenes" with it. Are you telling me there is a "elseif"? I did not see it.

Do you think it is finished then? You obviously feel at home with LUA but looking through the eyes of people who are not and who like to work with the building blocks, don't you thing there is room for improvement?

PS. a nice block would be a toggle

So, nothing going to change with the scene creator? Nobody wants it to evolve into something with more options and more freedom?

Fibaro, can you tell me if you are actively working on the scene creator?

    greetings,

    Hello,

I have a strange situation while programming with the graphic scene creator. Most scenes work well (have already a lot of them), but if I crate a scene with the wheather parameter and choose e.g. windspeed, I get instantly a next block stating the generic wheather conditons like 'clear'fog' cloud' etc. I expected to be able to enter a wind speed (I want to make a scene for my sunscreen).

Is this a bug in Fibaro or something else?

    regards

I agree the rule creator of Zipabox looks a little bit more evolved right now, but that is probably also because it's their only method of programming the rules. They need to. With Fibaro you always have LUA too, which in the end will always provide more options then any block-style editor could offer.

Believe me; been there, done that. Especially due to the server-errors, in case of scenes not working on Zipa, you're always wondering if it's a problem with your scene or if there is a server-error again. After months of cursing, that will get annoying.

LUA isn't very hard to learn, so that would really be your best bet. I learned it from scratch and I'm far from a pro until now, but I get much further now than I think you'll ever get with the block editor. Sorry it's not the answer you are looking for, but I think it's realistic.
