Control Sony-devices?

Question

Posted

Is it possible to control Sony devices such as reciever and tv using TCP/IP?

I've added them as virtual devices in HC and have a label for if they are on or not (Ping), but I would like to get out more information from them.

Anyone done anything like this?

And why are the boxes so wide?

there is a hard way - try to analyze IP traffic between sony device and IP remote (iphone app remote, or sony original app if exits)

there is a semi-hard way - try to find sony manuals for this IP feature.

and there is a simple way - buy and use roomie app
