Universal sensor w. DS18B20 battery life

Recommended Posts

I have door sensors with temperature sensors on most windows, but have to come to the conclusion that, due to the mounting position, this is too inaccurate for my wishes. Now I would like to install room temperature sensors in better suitable positions. I would like to use the Fibaro Universal Sensor with a DS18B20 for that, but can't run cables to the device to connect it to the grid.

Using a 9V battery and a setting of sending an update to HC2 after a 0,2 degrees temperature change, how much battery life can you expect from that?

Less than a day. The UBS is not a battery operated device. Last time I measured supply current it was 40 mA. I can't remember at what Voltage I was running it at... It's mounted in a box so it is not easy for me to measure it...

i down't own a door sensor, but i guess you can use longer wires for the dallas chip?

yeah a meter should be no problem as it is a digital signal. (dallas chip measures and than sends it digital...)
